☆準備において頑張った事、大変だった事☆
彼がボストンにいるので、細かな事を自分で決めていかなくてはならず大変でしたが、リッチモンドに行くのは楽しく、特にドレスフィッティングは毎回楽しみでした。
特に彼がリトアニア人でリトアニアには沢山の結婚に関する儀式などがあり、私達はサコティスと呼ばれるリトアニアウエディングケーキを用意しました。パンと塩、ワインの儀式もありそれぞれ意味があります。パンは家族の食卓に沢山の食べ物を、塩は結婚生活にスパイスを加え、ワインは結婚生活を永遠に甘いものにというように願いが込められています。披露宴では会場を一つの村に見立ててパン、塩、ワインの儀式をすればリトアニアの家族と認められ入る事ができます。このように儀式や伝統のものなども取り入れた披露宴になりました。

How was the wedding planning?
Since Rimas was living in Boston, we had to be creative when planning our wedding. At first, we were overwhelmed with all of the things that we needed to do. Takako met with our wedding planner, Hasegawa-san, and she did an excellent job in helping us to get organized. She explained our options and listened to all of our wedding ideas.
In March 2007, Rimas visited Japan and we were able to do more planning. We visited Guest House Richmond several times for our suit and dress fittings. It was a lot of fun trying on different outfits We were also invited to try a sample of the dinner that would be served at our reception. The food the chef’s prepared was delicious!
Since Rimas is Lithuanian, we wanted to include some traditional Lithuanian wedding customs as part of our reception. Hasegawa-san helped us include these into our plan. First, we were able to find a shop in Japan that makes traditional Lithuanian wedding cakes called sakotis. We were also able to include a Lithuanian custom involving **bread, salt, and wine at the entrance to our reception.

** The bread is to ensure that they have plenty of food for their family at the table. The salt is to add spice to their life together. And the wine is to keep their married life sweet forever.
